We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Assistant Professor to join our Agricultural Engineering department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and academic advising within the field of Agricultural Engineering. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions in agriculture and to inspire the next generation of agricultural engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Agricultural Engineering, including but not limited to courses in farm machinery, irrigation systems, soil conservation, and agricultural structures.
- Conduct research in areas relevant to Agricultural Engineering, publish scholarly articles, and participate in academic conferences.
- Advise and mentor students in their academic and career development, including overseeing research projects and assisting with internship placements.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and curriculum enhancements.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other academic activities to contribute to the overall academic environment and institutional goals.
- Stay updated on advancements and best practices in Agricultural Engineering through continuous professional development and networking within the field.
- Contribute to outreach and engagement efforts by representing the department and university at industry events, conferences, and community initiatives.
Qualifications:
M.TECH/ ME in Agricultural Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.
Strong research background with a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in Agricultural Engineering research and education.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Commitment to student success, diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and industry partners.
Membership in professional organisations related to Agricultural Engineering is desirable.
