Job Description:
Civil Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes cost estimation, cost control, contract administration, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget, on time, and to the specified quality.
Cost Estimation & Budgeting:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.
- Advise on cost-effective solutions and methods of construction.
Project Cost Control & Monitoring:
- Track and monitor project costs throughout its lifecycle.
- Prepare regular reports on cost status and work progress.
- Identify areas of cost overruns and suggest corrective actions.
Site Inspections & Measurements:
- Conduct regular site visits to verify quantities, ensure compliance with contracts, and track project progress.
- Measure completed work and verify payment certificates.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a civil quantity surveying role (typically 2-5 years).
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with contractors, clients, and the project team.
- Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards.
